About the university

Sheridan College, founded in 1967, is a polytechnic institute in Ontario with approximately 23,000 full-time students and 35,000 continuing education students. The college offers a wide array of programs, and Sheridan’s 170,000 alumni play a critical role in shaping the future of art, business, community service, health, technology, and skilled labor. Sheridan combines the traditional learning of university courses with hands-on, practical training, and along with a four year Baccalaureate Degree, students can earn a one year certificate or two to three year diploma in the technical field of their choice. Each campus offers all the benefits of a traditional university, including a library an

d learning commons, dining options, career center, tutoring, accessible learning office, and student healthcare. Students can get together with friends and cheer for the Sheridan Bruins in a variety of varsity sports, or they can form their own rec. league team. Whatever their interests, hobbies, and career goals, Sheridan has something for every student at one of its three campuses. The Davis Campus in Brampton is the largest of Sheridan's three campuses where students can study applied health, community services, engineering, and technology. The hands-on nursing lab, pharmacy lab, animal care center, and athletic therapy clinic will help future health professionals gain experience and interact with patients. The Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Design allows engineering students to troubleshoot and create alongside local businesses, building their resume and giving them real-world experience in a constructive environment. Since the campus is located in the Greater Toronto Area, students can easily access everything Toronto has to offer including diverse neighborhoods, the famous CN Tower and Royal Ontario Museum, and plenty of opportunities to socialize with other university students and intellectuals. Brampton itself has Garden Square where the community gathers for free events, as well as several parks near campus where students can study and relax between classes. As the biggest of the three campuses, the Davis Campus also has its own residence hall.
