Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia is a state-accredited professional higher education institution, offering first level professional higher education in such Health Care study programs as Medicine, Massage and Hydrotherapy, Optometry Assistant. Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia was founded in 1980. Historically it was called Riga Medical School. In 2004, in compliance with legislation of the Republic of Latvia, the medi

cal school was transformed into Riga Medical College, entering the field of higher education. Since 2010 the College is affiliated to the University of Latvia, thus becoming Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia. The University College educates and trains health care professionals who remain competitive not only in Latvia, but also in the European labour market. Education quality is assured by using innovative pedagogy that motivates lifelong learning, as well as by applying digital teaching and contemporary medical technologies. The University College has created an academic environment in which students and teachers can implement both educational and scientific activities, contributing to the development of an intelligent and creative personality.
