Saint Louis is a major port city in the state of Missouri, built along the western bank of the Mississippi River. It was originally founded by French fur traders, who named the city after Louis IX of France. Its history has been heavily influenced by Western expansion and blues music. While the Gateway Arch is one of the most prominent landmarks in the city, visitors should also see the Museum of Westward Expansion, the St. Louis Cathedral and go on the Anheuser-Busch factory tour.
