About the university

The University of Findlay (UF) is a private university in Findlay, Ohio. Established in 1882 through a partnership between the Churches of God, General Conference and the city of Findlay. The University of Findlay has nearly 60 undergraduate programs of study leading to baccalaureate degrees and offers 10 master’s degrees, and four doctorate-level degree programs. It’s not only known for science, health professions, animal science and equestrian studies programs, but also for cultivating the next generation of business leaders, educators and innovative thinkers through a dedication to experiential learning, both in and outside the classroom. Opportunities abound for learning leadership and

interpersonal skills outside the classrooms. With nearly 100 student organizations, and about 25 intramural sport clubs are focusing to keep the competitive spirit alive all over around. The fine arts flourish on campus with a variety of theatre productions, art exhibits and vocal and instrumental music concerts that offer creative outlets and training for students, as well as serving as a source of cultural enrichment for the community.

University Location

Findlay, Ohio, is the county seat of Hancock County. During the War of 1812, Colonel James Findlay built a road to transport troops across the region and constructed a stockade that was named Fort Findlay in his honor. The community of Findlay began to emerge in the area surrounding the fort after the war was over. Today, the city is home to the University of Findlay, a private liberal arts college with an enrollment of over 4,100 students, and Owens Community College, a state school with an enr

ollment of 2,391 students. The University of Findlay is best known for its programs in Education (undergraduate and Master's) and the equestrian studies programs. Findlay is known as “Flag City”, due to the strong patriotism of the residents.
