The Medical University of Silesia, one of the largest Medical Teaching Centers in Poland and Central Europe, was founded in 1948 as the “Medical Academy” and received its current name in 2007.

Katowice is a city east of Krakow, in the Silesian province of southern Poland, famous for its industrial past and excellent art scene. There is much to see and do in the city.
