Taronja Spanish School
The Taronja School, accredited by the Cervantes Institute, employs young, energetic teachers who hold a degree in Spanish Philology. This means students are guaranteed a quality Spanish education in a fun, active, and modern environment. Students can choose General Spanish, or a package that combines Spanish lessons with a second activity such as art, Spanish guitar, salsa, surfing, or sailing. For students who don't live in Spain or are just passing through, Taronja offers online classes as well as a one day crash course. Accommodations include shared apartments or a residence hall, though for students who wish to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture, host families are available.
The Taronja School is located in the heart of old Valencia in the perfect neighborhood for exploring the historic part of the city on foot. Cafes and restaurants are nearby, as are cathedrals, Gothic structures, parks, and outdoor concert venues. The cultural program at the school includes many of these destinations, and students can also use public transportation to venture beyond the old city and out into the modern area of Valencia to see the aquarium, planetarium, and the City of Arts and Sciences. Valencia marries Old World charm with modern amenities and technology, creating a perfect picture of 21st century Spanish culture. Students who choose the Taronja School in Valencia will be able to experience this reality firsthand.

The port city of Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city, lies on the country’s southeastern coast where the Turia River meets the Mediterranean Sea. While the city contains many monuments, Valencia’s modern crown jewel is the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex of museums, cinemas, theaters, and more. A glorious green ribbon of park winds right through this wonderfully livable city that is characterized by its thriving cultural, eating and nightlife scenes. Brilliant contemporary buildings grace the city along with a handful of fabulous Modernista buildings, great museums, a long stretch of beach and a large old quarter. The city’s old center is full of character, with a knot of little streets and splendid medieval buildings like the UNESCO-listed Lonja de la Seda.
